Hello! My name is Magdalena and I am an Ofsted registered childminder in Portsmouth.
My setting is situated in a quiet residential area of Baffins, surrounded by Baffins Pond, Great Salterns, Milton Common, Tamworth Park and the shoreline. The area's green and blue spaces provide opportunities for outdoor play, exploration, and sensory experiences, fostering a connection with the natural world.

Mornings start with a warm welcome and a settle-in period — time for a chat, a cuddle, or a quiet activity while everyone gets comfortable. From there, the day moves between focused learning, free play, and time outdoors, always shaped around what each child is curious about that day.
We're lucky to be a five-minute walk from Baffins Pond, Great Salterns, Milton Common, Tamworth Park, and the shoreline — so outdoor time is a genuine part of the routine, not an afterthought. Rain or shine, we get outside: puddle-jumping, minibeast hunts, and sensory play in all weathers.
Meals are home-cooked and eaten together, snack times are relaxed, and rest happens whenever a child needs it — this isn't a one-size-fits-all timetable.

Parks, farms and museums locally, plus Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the annual Spinnaker Tower visit — travelling by bus, train and the Gosport ferry.

Working parents are eligible for funded childcare for children aged 9 months to 4 years old. The availability of funded childcare and the number of hours on offer depends on your circumstances and your child's age.
Check your eligibility on the government's Best Start in Life website. Parents can also pay using tax-free childcare accounts.
The funding above applies to nursery-age children.
